If you find yourself in the bustling heart of Jati Padang, don't miss the charming culinary haven of Hokben Ruko Jatipadang. This Japanese restaurant, located at Jl. Raya Ragunan No.12B, invites both locals and visitors to explore the delightful world of bento-style dining.
Upon entering, you'll notice that Hokben provides a cozy atmosphere, especially with its dining area conveniently situated on the second floor. While the staircase may present a narrow challenge, it only adds to the charm of this hidden gem. As you navigate through, you're met with the warmth of the staff, whose friendly greetings set a welcoming tone for your meal.
The expansive menu caters to various tastes, although some patrons have remarked on the changing flavors of signature dishes over time. Yet, the overall quality remains commendable, and the portions, while slightly on the smaller side—except for the accompanying rice—are well worth the price point, starting around IDR 25K. Always be sure to inquire about complimentary beverages to maximize your dining experience without stretching your budget.

This makes it an ideal spot for those looking to enjoy a light meal while engrossed in a good book or completing work tasks. Good service. Can be crowded by 3rd party delivery service personnel at times (eg. at lunch in a casual Saturday), so expect a few additional waiting minutes. The price range starts from ca. IDR 25K (before VAT), and please ask if the menu of your choice comes with complimentary beverage so you don't have to pay too much for additional beverages. The dining room is in the 2nd floor, with a stair about 60 cm wide (building issue not exactly theirs), so be aware of people coming down especially when you carry a tray full of dishes. If you're coming back down, please mind people coming up with their food by giving them right of way. For a popular joint in a relatively busy neighbourhood, the place is not too busy with people dining in, so it's a cosy place to perhaps finish a book you're reading, or work you're going to submit come Monday. Nothing out of ordinary could be said about the food, but perhaps the portion is leaning towards smaller side save the rice. All in all, if you're looking for a quiet place to do some light works while eating Japanese-style bento dishes, you'll find the place suit your needs.

A lot has changed from HokBen's signature flavours and rice. But it still tastes good.

Still need review about the taste? I guest all outlets is good taste. But for the place, I little bit surprised that this outlet have a big dine in room in 2nd floor. Maybe they need to fix circulation, adding the exhaust is a good option. Staff very kind, they're greetings when I coming and leaving.
